5 Things Women Can Buy in Men’s Section

Fashion is all about experimenting and having fun.  So why not head to the men’s section in your favourite store and take a look at what they have FOR YOU LADIES !! (Guys keep reading.  You will get inspired by the pictures to come).  That oversized sweater you have been looking for.  Those “boyfriend” jeans that you can’t find anywhere. These are some things that women can buy in men’s section. And there could be much more.  You just need to know 3 things to make it work for you:

  1. how to style it
  2. what alteration you might need
  3. which fabrics to look for

So what are the things that you can buy in men’s section?

If I had to choose one thing, it would be a cardigan since women’s cardigans are usually shorter than I want them to be. But you can get as creative as you want! In this post I will share with you how I created 3 looks on a female and a male using THE SAME ITEMS. So here we go:

1 & 2 T-Shirt & Hoodie

Purchasing a men’s T-shirt is a no-brainer. You can wear it as it is and go for the oversized look, roll up the sleeves and tuck it in for a causal look or be playful by tying it at the front. For this look I paired the T-shirt with a Hoddie and here is what I did to make it work on my feminine model:
• selected the smallest sizes in both items
• chose a brighter colour in the hoodie and pushed up the sleeves
• paired it with a skirt

3 & 4 Cardigan & Trousers

The secret to rocking clothes borrowed from men’s is styling them differently. As you can see in this look, to bring out the maximum effect of these joggers, wear the cardigan on a bare skin and drop down one shoulder. SECRET TIP: mix masculine and feminine elements in one look for an interesting outcome. And in case you haven’t noticed, the brogue oxfords the lovely lady is wearing are originally men’s shoes too!

5. Trench Coat

Who could have thought that you could use a men’s trench coat as a dress?! Yet, it’s possible as you can see. The result is chic and feminine. ANOTHER TIP that will work with men’s stuff is using accessories such as jewelry, belts or shoes.
