6 Shoe Trends To Look For In Fall 2019

Fall is just around the corner ! While summer’s pool dips and ice cream eating are euphoric, you can’t deny that fall has its own magic. Wrapping up in your cozy coat while taking a walk amongst the changing foliage, is an unparalleled experience. It is that time of the year when you get sufficient sun light yet comfortable temperatures. Above all, it is the season that allows you to play with your outfits, including your shoes. Feel free to pair sandals with a light coat or booties with short dress. And let me tell you this, this fall has some of the coolest shoe trends ever. What is even better is that some of these trends are not to leave us soon (in case you were into slow fashion).

Unique heels

This is my favourite of the shoe trends. It is fun and enjoyable. It is a statement that is not so loud yet so dramatic. If you like basic style or minimalism, a sculptural heel is a great way to spice things up in a subtle way. I think that the mass market are still picking up this trend though. You would definitely see more unusual heels in designers brands. On the positive side, if you decide to invest in designer shoes with an eccentric heel, you don’t have to worry about that heel being outdated in the coming 5 years. Sculptural creations are always in trend.

Square toe shoes

You have seen the square toe ALL SUMMER LONG. You guessed it! We will be seeing it ALL FALL LONG as well. Thanks to brands like Bottega Veneta, square toe shoes have been on almost every blogger, fashionista or influencer we know (click here to see it). Some people might not like it but I actually urge them to try it on before making a final judgment. You might actually change your mind. If you aren’t into square toe shoes so much, try a softer version with a bit of more rounded corners. In case you are still totally against it, don’t worry. No one cancelled pointy toes! Make sure you choose modern and contemporary designs to guarantee that you will look on point.

Combat boots

Boots are the first thing you think about when fall hits. However, this season’s boots are a bit more “punk” if you will. Think about high platforms, rough detailing, metallic buckles or all combined. Anything that might remind you of a mix between military and grunge. Even if your choice of shoes this fall were Dr.Martens, then opt for higher soles. How aggressive you want the boots to be is up to how brave you are. Not sure how to rock them? Pair them with something feminine like a flowery dress or a silky skirt with a chunky sweater.

Animal print shoes

The animal print never goes out of fashion. What might change is how much of it we wear and how we wear it. While last season we saw it on every garment, this season we are going to see it on shoes. This type of trend is perfect for those who were intimidated by this fierce print last season. A small does of a cheetah or a snake on your heel or vamp won’t let you feel like everybody is looking at you. In addition, this is a print that works well with any colour or any other print. Doesn’t that just save you the time to think how to pair things together? Click here to see how to wear animal print.

Shearling trend

Before the cold weather forces you to wear all types of leathers and wools, start incorporating shearling into your shoes. Your skin will love the softness of this material and your feet will stay warm in case your limbs get cold easily. Nevertheless, this shoe trends might not be for everyone. Maybe it doesn’t get that cold where you live or your life style just doesn’t have space for such a thing (perhaps you work in an office with a strict dress code). Consider the fact that it might rain all fall where you are too, which might not be practical to wear all-shearling shoes. And no this is not your regular UGGs!

Shoes with a victorian vibe

If the combat boots were not your thing or a little bit too much for you, then you might like this trend instead. Those types of booties usually have laces, floral prints or square low heels. Add an extra trendy touch by combining this trend with the trend of the square toe! Unless you are into vintage (and you know how to wear vintage), make sure you balance your Victorian booties with modern basics. You don’t want to end up looking like you are a lost museum piece.
