Suits & Berets: Eternal Trends

I have been in love with suits since an early age and my fascination with them keeps on growing! Back in the days, they were more of an office attire rather than an everyday item as we see them now. I didn’t have an office job, yet that didn’t stop me from loving them and I can’t complain how they have become popular over the past few years.

Designer Coco Chanel & actress Marlene Dietrich were one of the first females to break the rules by wearing the suit. It was a controversial move back then, but it revolutionized fashion and slowly moved the suit to a total normality for us today. Other designers, just as well, played important roles in upgrading the ways women wear and style suits. Thanks to Yves Saint Laurent, “le smoking” become an epitome of seduction and sexiness. And due to Gabriela Hearst’s creativity, we were introduced to suits in every colour and texture on the spectrum.

From very structured to softer silhouettes, suits have become a norm in every women’s closet.

My love story with berets is a bit different though. I keep falling in and out of love with them. I guess it depends on how I’m feeling and what I’m wearing them with. In addition, I love pairing them with buns or braids rather than with my hear fully down. They do always remind me of artists and there is something very French about them too.

Avoid berets that are fluffy as they tend to look outdated. Try leather ones becuase they give a sophistication to this eternal classic.

Well, I hope you liked this look and got a useful inspiration out of it !
